Seven Shades and Twenty Tones

Hillary: (noun) 20.

Art--comics to old masters. Existentialistic perspectives. Puff & fluff.

I love explosions of color.

I love animation more than any one person should be allowed.

In the end, I choose to be a human being first and all of society's unnecessary classifications second.

A ‘Diversity Bake Sale’ Backfires on Campus

Shawn Lewis, president of the Berkeley College Republicans, said the sale was meant as a satire of affirmative action. Stoops.

BERKELEY,…

Okay. As an African American citizen, I pose no side to affirmative action. I would hate for someone to get a position within an educational institution over somebody else who is unbiasedly considered more qualified based on color. However, I am happy that affirmative action does provide African American students eduction that they may otherwise be unable to afford. There are good and bad points to providing this opportunity.

Now, this bake sale? Is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. I agree wholeheartedly with the comment on women and their wages compared to that of men. I think the .25 cent thing is bullshit, and last time I checked, being female provides virtually no benefits when it comes to being accepted into college (unless, looking from the worst possible misogynistic perspective, the person provided your acceptance interview liked your tits).

As well, even knowing the point in which the the bake sale is running for, I would be whole heartedly offended if I walked up to the table, completely unaware of their motives, and was told I got to pay less for my cupcake than the white student next to me. Not only is this stunt a loud and obnoxious representation of this Republicans club’s denial of their privilege, but it is a fantastic method of belittling me, the color of my skin, and the horrible expectations that this club has implicitly put upon me and everyone else with my skin color.
